This instructions are only for AlterSite accounts and don't apply to AlterBlog, AlterForum or AlterGallery accounts.
With AlterVista you can register a second level domain as yourname.com .net .org .info .biz and redirect it to you account.
Domain registration features DNS management, subdomain creation, redirecting (domain forwarding), url cloaking/masking, meta tags editing, email aliases and more.
Sign in to the control panel, select AlterSite on the main menu and follow the Register a domain link.
